Key Accomplishments
- Managed the design, negotiation and signing of a new £multi-million Performance Management system for a major UK mobile operator in 10 weeks, start-to-finish.
- Re-engineered Business Processes mapping to accommodate significant strategic systems changes within BSkyB around Broadband, Voice and WLR offerings to meet the needs of upcoming systems enhancements in support of strategic initiatives within the business.
- Worked with Portugal Telecom to create detailed eTOM and SOA processes as the reference models for a new Order Management System implementation, integrated with a variety of legacy systems. Managed the end-to-end ordering process for Naked DSL, Triple-Play and Ethernet services.
- Created Cable and Wireless’ solutions for MPLS Manual Bypass Tunnelling and MPLS Core Network Security (IDS and secure protocols migration), as part of their NGN transformation also assisted in defining various products (PRD) for delivery over the new infrastructure. Matrix managing 15 staff.
- Managed the design and build of an EU funded Social Networking platform, catering for the Life-sciences and Biotech sector, to promote closer collaboration between Academia, Researchers, Venture Capitalists and SMEs across Europe and beyond. Managing 3 external organisations.
- Launched the Jeans for Genes charity in the USA, creating an online commercial presence and website in 3 months. Managing 3 external organisations to ensure tight coupling from the website shopping cart through to customer fulfilment.
- Matrix managed a wide variety of technical and commercial resources from across BT to produce Feasibility studies and high-level business cases (PRDs and MRDs) for new products/services, SoRs or service transformations including: Fibre IRS for Fibre to the Home, DACS, Customer Migrations, Number portability, Carrier Pre-select, Naked DSL, Private circuits, monitored lines (Redcare), Stop vs Cease, Field engineering work management, High-bandwidth Retail services and many others, including the production of published Industry consultation papers. Matrix managed teams up to 30.
- Created the 3-year OSS/BSS transformation roadmap for Bahrain Telecoms. Managing a team of 15-20 Consultants to produce 18 man/months work in 8 weeks, with detailed schematics and plans.
- Created and managed a major bids team to maximise the value of the interaction between BT and MBT, providing guidance on strategy, commercials and technical aspects of a wide variety of bids, proposals and programmes of work, ensuring optimum client satisfaction and profitability.
- Rescued a stalled implementation of Oracle 11i with DEFRA, which was intended to provide enhanced financial management within the large and diverse UK Government Ministry. 8 staff.
- Redesigned and re-implemented the IFMIS Financial solution for the Malawi Government on behalf of the World Bank. The project had been running for 3 years and had completely failed – using one international consultant and a team of 5 local staff (trained on the job), we rolled out in 10 months.
- Created the reference architecture for Nortel’s OSS/BSS product-line, making optimal use of the various acquisitions (Clarify, Architel, etc) to produce a completely integrated OSS/BSS model for the eBusiness Solutions Suite. This led to winning BT Sunrise’s $30m OSS/BSS solutions bid, prior to BT selling their stake in Sunrise. Promoted to Directeur de Marchéfor Southern Europe due to this very significant win. Matrix managing teams up to 40 people across US, Canada, Europe and UK.
- Launched a new company from scratch in the cut-throat world of London’s IT reseller market, which grew from 3 staff and zero t/o to 7 staff and £1m t/o in 3 years.
